Is the MSZ-RZ (R290) right for you?

The MSZ-RZ is Mitsubishi Electric's flagship and the only model in the range running on R290 (propane), a natural refrigerant with a global warming potential of about 3, next to roughly 675 for the R32 used across the rest of the range. If future-proofing against tightening F-gas rules and the lowest environmental impact matter to you, nothing else here comes close.

It also has one of the slimmest cabinets in the range and is engineered for strong, steady heating in cold weather, so it earns its place as much for winter warmth as for summer cooling.

Where it wins: the eco-focused buyer, and rooms where reliable heating is the priority. Best for bedrooms, studies and smaller living rooms.
Keep in mind: it's currently offered only in 2.5 and 3.5 kW, so it isn't the choice for large open-plan spaces, and it sits at the top of the price range.
